The Saw Guard Dog complies with OSHA's stated rules regarding circular saw guards:

1926.304(d)

"Guarding. All portable, power-driven circular saws shall be equipped with guards above and below the base plate or shoe. The upper guard shall cover the saw to the depth of the teeth, except for the minimum arc required to permit the base to be tilted for bevel cuts. The lower guard shall cover the saw to the depth of the teeth, except for the minimum arc required to allow proper retraction and contact with the work. When the tool is withdrawn from the work, the lower guard shall automatically and instantly return to the covering position."

The Saw Guard Dog meets OSHA's specific standards of having to allow the guard to return to the covering position automatically as soon as the cut is finished. This keeps the blade covered any time which the worker's hand may be near the blade, which pinning it up doesn't do. This is revolutionary in the construction industry because it allows workers to continue making those difficult cuts while still being safe and fulfilling legal requirements. Therefore, workers won't have to worry about being caught by their managers or OSHA and receiving large fines.
